Meet The Team

Wealden Vets is led by a team of experienced local vets who have been caring for pets in the area for many years.

We believe that great veterinary care starts with strong relationships, which is why you’ll see familiar faces and receive consistent, personal care every time you visit.

George Burton

I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2014 and have spent over 10 years working locally in mixed practice. Throughout my career, I’ve developed a real passion for general practice and take great pride in building lasting relationships with clients and being an active part of the local community.

My love of animals started early, growing up on my parents’ smallholding, where I was surrounded by a wide variety of animals and developed a lifelong interest in natural history. That early experience continues to shape the way I approach veterinary care today.

Outside of work, life is just as busy. At home I have two cats, two Labradors, chickens, and sheep. I’m also a keen beekeeper and enjoy producing my own honey. If I have a spare moment, I also try to maintain our allotment.

I live with my wife and our two young sons, so there’s rarely a quiet moment—but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Rowen Trevor-Jones

I was born and raised in Australia on a farm which started my love of animals and their care. I attended University of Queensland and graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science in 1998 and began working as a Veterinary Surgeon in Australia. After two years of work in Australia I decided to gain new experiences and skills by moving abroad and came to the UK to begin working around the country.

I enjoyed the challenges of working with a wide variety of animals and interacting with their owners, leading me to focus on small animal medicine and surgery. I enjoy meeting people and their pets and working with them to care for their animals throughout their life.

With a wife who works in animal welfare as well, we have ended up 3 dogs, 5 cats, 2 tortoises and an axolotl as well as regular fosters and critical care rescues coming and going. Outside of work I still love the water and spending time with my family on the rivers and seas around the area, though I have traded my surfboard for a paddleboard to keep on the water in Sussex.

Rose Colville

I graduated from Liverpool Veterinary School in 2007 and began my career in Kent before returning home to East Sussex in 2009. I worked as a mixed practice vet in Uckfield before focusing exclusively on small animal work there since 2018. As a general practitioner, I particularly enjoy the variety each day brings and have a strong interest in both medicine and surgery. I enjoy building strong bonds with both animals and their owners, and working in partnership with clients to make informed decisions about their pets’ care.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, exploring new walks with our two rescue sighthounds and three daughters, cycling, and attempting to grow vegetables.

I am so proud to be establishing our new practice alongside George and Rowen, who I have worked with for many years, sharing a vision to provide the same high standard of care we would want for our own pets.
